“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.“
Edith Wharton
I was born in Colombia and moved to France with my family at the age of nine, leaving behind the world I knew and having to learn a new language and adapt to a new culture. I moved to London in my early twenties and started a new life again. My personal experience of migration, motherhood, depression and my family history have made me open and empathetic to a wide range of ways of seeing and perceiving the world.
Psychotherapy and Counselling with Silvia Lautier
I am a BACP registered Psychotherapist and Counsellor and I offer Psychotherapy and Counselling in English, Spanish and French.
Every person comes to therapy with different problems, needs and expectations but their main goal and motivation is to find some relief to their suffering. You might come in great distress and in need of hope, or you might need a space to focus on yourself and your life, in order to live more creatively. My goal is to support you, wherever you find yourself.
My approach is client orientated and my relationship to my client is one of collaboration. We explore together your challenges and difficulties, as well as your hopes and dreams. I offer a confidential space for communication, where you will be supported in accessing and expressing your emotions, identifying unwanted patterns and behaviours and through self-acceptance, building confidence and resilience. With curiosity and openness, using a range of therapeutic models, I will support you in learning new behaviours that will allow you to live a more satisfying life. You will be challenged at times and will receive feedback in order to support your progress.
