Psychotherapy, Counselling and Coaching with
Sandra Keys
Perhaps you are feeling unsupported at work, struggling with difficult relationships, reaching burn out, find you’ve lost your direction in life or dealing with bullying.
If any of the above resonates with you then rest assured, these are all struggles that you don’t have to face alone.
Who am I and Why work with me?
My approach as a psychotherapist is Gestalt-based and focused on how we each engage in life from moment-to-moment. The work that we do together focuses on how you experience yourself.
Through our work together, change happens. Not always as expected and often by staying with difficult experiences. New ways of thinking and being open through showing up and being present in the therapeutic relationship.
I want you to know that you are not alone and together, we will navigate positive change through the painful events and situations that you are struggling with.
If you would like to contact me today for a confidential conversation, then I will show up for you.
I work through City Therapy Space in the heart of the City of London.
Specialist Areas
Relationship difficulties and challenges – Relationships come in all shapes and sizes, those we have with our intimate partner, those with our family, with our friends and work colleagues too, but perhaps most of all the relationship we have with ourselves. You may be struggling to find love or you may have realised you are no longer in love, and don’t know what to do with your feelings and how to move forward. Perhaps you keep having the same arguments, the same power struggles or keep ending up in the same cycle of dating and want to discover why you are not happy with the relationships you form.
Family life can be complicated. Whatever role you perform in the family, parent, child, sibling … or all of these, you may find you are pulled in different directions, asked to ‘play a specific role’ and generally feel that you are not happy with the relationship/s you have with your family. Perhaps you feel that you, the individual, has been swallowed up by your responsibilities of the ‘role’ you perform. We can talk about what is going on for you and how you feel, how you want others to see you and what changes you could make.
If your challenges are more related to work you might feel that you are undervalued or not taken seriously, perhaps you find certain colleagues’ behaviour difficult to handle and want to explore how you can assert yourself positively, maybe you just want to learn to say ‘no’ to too many demands on you. We can explore how you are feeling and discuss ways to work on the relationship challenge you might have.
Therapy will help you look at what you want from your relationship with others and we will explore what is going on for you and talk through what you would like to change and how you might make that change come about.
Professional and Workplace emotional, relationship challenges – feeling unsupported at work, experiencing bullying, harassment or workplace stress?
I’ll offer you both practical and emotional support to respond to these situations in ways that constructively enable you to better empower yourself.
With 25+ years working within corporate environments, I’m highly experienced in providing support with these issues and more.
Belonging and Identify issues – are you living and/or working in an unfamiliar country, experiencing feelings of low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, loneliness, or isolation?
Through our work together, we will explore coping mechanisms to support you in dealing with these, often crippling issues.
My own experience both as an Expatriate-spouse and living and working in many different countries allows me to bring cross-cultural sensitivity and respect into the heart of how I work.
Bereavement and Coping with Grief – Grief is unique to each of us and there is no time limit to how you process the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job or the loss of self-esteem.
As a widow with one daughter, I draw from my own life experience, in addition to my own specialist expertise in this area, to provide support if you are experiencing loss and grief.
My first book ‘Where Would You Like Your Dishwasher’ – is my own Story of Life, Love and Loss and teaches how it is possible to navigate a process of transformational change through grief in a way that reconstructs meaning from loss.
Dream Work – Our dreams hold vital information, at a sub-conscious level, to inform how we are creating our personal and professional identity.
