I invite and welcome women, men and young people (18 years and above) to my practice. I provide a safe, welcoming and professional environment for my clients. I see the work of psychotherapy as a creative, collaborative partnership between client and therapist to foster strength and healing within the client.
I support my clients on their journey of discovery to be fully themselves and to establish more fulfilling ways of relating to others. I also provide a deep understanding and experience of cultural diversity and the complex issues that surround culture in a modern world.
Reasons for Considering individual Psychotherapy & Counselling with Nadine Dixon
There are many reasons for considering psychotherapy, including a feeling that life could be more fulfilling. Some people come because they feel that they would benefit from the support, and from having a confidential environment where they can unburden themselves and speak freely.
Reasons for considering psychotherapy include feeling:
- Low self-worth
- Sad or depressed
- Overwhelmed and unable to cope
I am an integrative psychotherapist. I have integrated humanistic, relational and psychodynamic approaches in my practice. I work relationally, using compassionate, non-judgemental listening to individually tailor a blend of approaches. I will help you develop self-compassion and to be more accepting of yourself. Supporting you to feel calmer, heal from painful experiences and to make sense of your life.
For those who wish to use it I also offer arts psychotherapy in my practice, including body work, sand tray, art, poetry and clay. I believe that at times words can be challenging and the arts may provide a creative process of expression when words are difficult. No previous artistic experience is necessary and you do not need to have artistic skills.
