I am passionate about the work I do and the people I see as a Counselling Psychologist. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients, to understand their difficulties from their perspective, so that I can tailor therapy treatment to suit each unique individual.
I believe that we all come across difficulties during our lives, but that if we collaborate to tailor therapy to your individual needs, you will develop a greater understanding of your inner world, and we can create a personal road-map for you which will show you the way forward, so you can overcome the challenges you face in the outside world.

I do truly want clients to have a fulfilled life and not to have to be in therapy longer than needed. I also understand the financial demands of our day and age and as such I like to practice mainly within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework (which generally needs only 6-8 sessions for sustainable change). I am also trained in psychodynamic and mindfulness-based approaches and do not always use CBT as a stand alone treatment but integrated with other treatments. I see you as my client, not my patient and as a client in our therapeutic alliance, I think you deserve an expert service. As an empathetic CBT psychologist, I work with you in understanding your thoughts and related behaviours. I sometimes work quite directively with you on giving you CBT skills, techniques and tools in helping you overcome difficulty and supporting you through any future trigger events.
I believe that, as with GP’s, when we walk into our appointment, we trust that the GP is an expert in their field and that we would like to walk out with a clear indication of our problems, what medication to take, how many times a day etc. My hope is that I could give you the same type of service. I see CBT as quite educational process, and as such will develop with you a series of skills, insights, and strategies that you can apply in your current situation and any future reoccurrences. As an expert in the field I would like to be able to give you the tools from my toolkit so that you can go out into the world and work on any problem areas that may come up in your sessions to not only improve your thoughts, but your behaviours and feelings and in the grand scheme of things, your quality of life.
