Hello and welcome to my profile.
Perhaps life hasn’t been working out as you had hoped, or you’re feeling stuck, or managing a difficult situation or relationship? Perhaps you have been thinking about therapy for a while and are now ready to explore some options?
People seek therapy for all sorts of reasons, however there is usually one area of common ground – a deep desire for change and growth, whether in relationship to others, ourselves, or life more generally.
The process of change offers us the opportunity for beginnings and endings . Engaging with the work of healing and growth, the journey we forge in therapy brings immediate and long-lasting rewards, as we clear the path and walk towards a more authentic and satisfying way of being in the world.
Psychotherapy and Counselling with Catherine Syada
MBACP (Registered)
I am a Humanistic and Integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, drawing from a range of therapies including Gestalt, Formative Psychology and Transpersonal therapy.
I have a long-standing curiosity in how we create our own personal meaning and purpose in life, and how we meet ourselves amidst the tumult of life’s noise. Often the entry point is through struggle and frustration of some kind, a life event which shakes the ground and requires something more of us.
Therapy is essentially a collaborative process where the relationship between therapist and client is central to the work. My role is to accompany you on your journey, at times offering another perspective or lens through which to view the changing scenery. I also encourage you to recognise and engage with your own resources. I offer a safe, confidential space to explore who you truly are and what you would like to for yourself. It may not be an external event but an internal ease with being in the world. I invite you to explore the hidden parts of yourself in order to gain an understanding of the bigger picture – the thoughts, patterns and behaviours which may no longer serve you. The work is transformative in nature, where the grit becomes the pearl.
I work with a range of needs including (though not limited to) anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, codependency and parenting. I have an interest in the healing power of the natural environment as an immediate resource for self regulation, and I am open to working with clients who want to work with their spirituality. I also have a lifelong love of the power of storytelling, of being heard, and how we create meaning as we engage, create and retell our own narratives.
