“5 Dimensions of Leadership”
“5DL Coaching” has been developed over the past 30 years to enable fully qualified psychotherapists to work within a corporate context. It draws on the research of pioneering business psychologists and established authors on leadership psychology such as Oshry, Jaworski, Senge, Maslow and many others.
The methodology homes in powerfully on the key traits of ‘successful leadership’. Not just for CEOs and the C-Suite, the coaching is also appropriate for all senior managers and executives within an organisation. Moreover, its application is holistic and impacts across the entire organisation.
The focus of the coaching is on the ‘5 Dimensions’ of outstanding leadership.
Briefly, these are:
2) Awareness of one’s impact on others and inter-group dynamics
3) Understanding the system forces that create the culture, cogency and purpose of the whole organisation
4) Releasing the ‘Will’ through uncovering personal blockages that block potential and performance and
5) Developing the skills required for confident delegation and taking counsel.
Outcomes are reflected in an optimal collaborative working culture and positive deliverables, measurable at the bottom line.
The coaching format is immersive and intensive as it works with a person-centred, deeply psychological, holistic context. It consists of a set of six 1:1 sessions for the coachee of 1.0-1.5 hours over 3 months (ie fortnightly). Further sets can be resumed if required.
As a business leader, I was facing a huge challenge, which I knew meant developing my skill sets to a totally different level in a wholly unfamiliar, indeed as yet undetermined, environment. Qualifications and Training:
I’m in supervision with the Institute of Psychosynthesis for its PG Cert in Leadership and Organisational Coaching. I have been a Chartered Fellow of the CISI for many years.
I’m a registered member of the Institute of Psychosynthesis and a member of its Training Faculty. The Institute is accredited by the UKCP through the AAP.
